Carta Varese

Italian 211

Carta Varese designs have their origins in Renaissance Italy and traditional Italian woodblock printed papers. Nowadays they are offset printed in Florence.

The printing process is quite elaborate. The two-way & multi-coloured papers are printed in a single colour machine. Every colour is printed separately, a method reminiscent of silk-screen printing. This process results in colours that are bright and dense despite being an offset print.

These high quality papers are suitable for a wide variety of applications from wrapping paper to bookbinding (covers & endpapers), box making, origami, lining furniture and doll's houses. It is also often used in collage and card making projects.

  • Base paper is uncoated, ivory smooth wove.
  • Acid free.
