City & Guilds Level 3 - Storage & Enclosures II - 2026 (tbc)

£450.00

City & Guilds Level 3

(Storage & Enclosures II)

Cloth bound drop back box / Brass post folder

Dates: tbc 2026 (3 days)

A mandatory assignment in the City & Guilds Level 3 curriculum.

During this intensive three-day course you will make two further methods of protective storage: a dropback box (also known as a clamshell box) is the most common and effective way of keeping light and dust from the book or contents within;  and an A4+ size folder with four brass posts hidden within flanges to offer a smart way of presenting or storing loose papers.

To get the most out of this course, it is recommended that you have some bookbinding experience.

City & Guilds information

We offer an optional City & Guilds qualification upon request for an additional fee. It is not a prerequisite for participation.

City & Guilds is one of the oldest vocational education organisations in the UK and the only body to offer internationally recognised qualifications in Craft Bookbinding. For over a century professional bookbinders have undergone training based on a City & Guilds curriculum.  Over time the syllabus had adjusted to industry changes and in 2012 Shepherds was instrumental in revising the Craft Bookbinding qualifications to meet modern requirements.
