Fukunishi Udagami - small format heritage washi, handmade in Yoshino, Nara prefecture.
This paper has a very specific use in Japan as the middle layer in scrolls. Fibre cooked in wood ash treated water, hand beaten - made with Noriutsugi formation aid & clay, dried on wooden boards.

  • Pure 100% Kozo paper
  • With added clay to prevent shrinking, cooked in wood ash.
    Contains clay content for dimensional stability in scroll backing.
  • Certified as a preservation of cultural property papermaker by the Agency for Cultural Affairs.
  • Suitable for use in printmaking, etching, conservation and bookbinding.

We supply our papers and cloth rolled in cardboard tubes or boxes as standard.

FLAT PACKS: Choose Courier Flatpack if you do not wish to have your papers rolled or are purchasing larger sizes of thick papers or boards larger than A1.

International deliveries will be subject to local import duties on arrival – we are not able to supply quotes for these charges prior to shipping. The courier or postal service will contact you to settle these fees before delivery.
