W.S. Hodgkinson - Wookey Hole, Somerset. Circa 1950.

Paper has been made at Wookey Hole for over 350 years, with the Hodgkinson family being the best known owners in the 20th century. The mill was eventually acquired by the owners of St. Cuthbert's, a little further along the river axe. Production of commercial handmade paper ceased in 1972.

100% cotton rag.

Watermarked: WSH & C0. BRITISH HAND MADE and armorial watermark.

Suitable for calligraphy, drawing and pen & ink.
