"Carta Varese" is inspired by the patterns in vogue at the beginning of the twentieth century.
Remondini decorative papers are created from the vast collection of original woodcuts from the ancient Remondini printing house, active in Bassano from 1657 to 1861, preserved in the private family archives "Raccolta Remondini -Tassotti". They were produced as Remondini's originals for several decades in Varese at the Molina Paper Mill. All the original woods returned to Bassano in 1959 and are now preserved in the Civic Museum.
These papers are now made at Tassotti’s printing works in Bassano del Grappa, printed exclusively in sheets (hence the extraordinary sharpness of its colours) with high lightfastness inks, on an ecological, acid-free matt support.
Carta Varese has a wide variety of uses, first and foremost it is used as wrapping paper. Secondly, it is a very popular covering paper for boxes, albums, books and booklets. Sometimes it is called 'cupboard paper' as one can protect and decorate drawers and furniture with it. It also serves as end paper in hiqh quality book editions. It is used for Origami, collage, decoration, doll's house material and in many other applications.
